1. Appearance characteristics:

Vibration bearings: rolling element diameter and length are usually larger; the cage is guided by the outer ring rib to reduce the force on the roller; the inner ring rib is used to guide the roller to improve the operation of the roller; the cage of the cylindrical roller bearing adopts an integral structure with higher strength; the outer diameter of the self-aligning bearing is designed with oil grooves and oil holes for better lubrication.

Ordinary bearings: the roller diameter and rolling element length are both smaller; the cage is guided by the roller or inner ring; the cage of the cylindrical roller bearing adopts a rivet structure, which is easy to loosen and fall off; the outer diameter of the self-aligning bearing has no oil grooves and oil holes, and the lubrication effect is poor.

2. Selected materials:

Vibration bearings: the inner and outer rings and rolling elements are made of vacuum degassed bearing steel, which has good fatigue resistance; the cage is made of aluminum-iron-manganese bronze material, which has high strength, good elasticity and better wear resistance.

Ordinary bearings: the inner and outer rings and rolling elements are made of ordinary bearing steel; the cage is made of zinc brass, which has low strength and poor elasticity.

3. Heat treatment method:

Special bearings for vibration: The inner and outer rings are quenched by Bayer-Martens mixed quenching or Martens quenching + high temperature tempering, with uniform hardness, small internal stress, good toughness, excellent impact and vibration resistance; when working within 150℃, the stability is good.

Ordinary bearings: The inner and outer rings are quenched by ordinary quenching, with poor toughness, poor impact and vibration resistance, and poor thermal stability.

4. Tolerance and manufacturing process:

Special bearings for vibration: Manufactured strictly in accordance with the P6 grade precision standard, the inner and outer diameter tolerance is very small; the rolling element size difference is ≤0.002; the outer diameter of the cylindrical roller has convexity to avoid stress concentration; the rolling surface is super-finished and has high finish.

Ordinary bearings: Manufactured with ordinary PO grade precision tolerance (part of the P6 grade standard); rolling element grouping ≤0.005; cylindrical rollers have no convexity; some raceways are only polished, and the finish is low.

5. Internal clearance:

Special bearings for vibration: The clearance is produced according to the requirements of vibration machinery, the range is controlled within a very small range, and the consistency is good.

Ordinary bearings: The clearance is generally produced according to the standard group or C3 group, and the clearance is either small or has a large range and large discreteness.

6. Use effect:

Vibration bearings: low noise, small temperature rise, good stability, long service life, and no early fatigue phenomenon.

Ordinary bearings: high noise, high temperature rise, poor stability, short service life, and early fatigue phenomenon.

7. Application:

Vibration bearings: commonly used in machines with high-speed rotation and high-frequency vibration, such as aircraft engines and wind turbines, etc. They have the functions of noise reduction, energy saving and improving machine work efficiency.

Ordinary bearings: widely used in various fields, such as automobiles, ships, machine tools and electronic equipment, and are indispensable parts in machines.

There are significant differences between ordinary bearings and vibration bearings in appearance, materials, heat treatment, manufacturing process, internal clearance, use effect and application. These differences make them suitable for different working environments and needs.
